Mixed Media Cyanotype Workshop

Join this in-depth indoor cyanotype workshop with Something Good Workshops and learn how to create magical blue prints as you explore this unique art form. In this fascinating 2-hour session, you'll begin this creative activity with an A6 cyanotype test print – exploring how light interacts with different materials like plants, tape, Sharpies, found items, recycled packaging, and wooden letters.

Once you're feeling confident in how to work with various opacities, you'll move on to designing your own striking cyanotype composition on A3 paper, which you'll be able to cut down to make into multiple prints - using the array of materials available. If you have personal images you’d like to weave into your design, simply email an A4 page of these at least two days before the workshop. They will then be converted into a negative and printed onto an acetate sheet – ready for you to incorporate. Your hosts will help you layer materials to create a bold, layered artwork, ready to expose and wash.

This workshop is perfect for those wanting a deeper understanding of the cyanotype process. No prior experience is needed – just bring your curiosity and readiness to play with light, shadow, and shape. You'll leave with your own beautiful deep-blue sun print to take home, a wonderful memento of this illuminating artistic exploration.
