An Introduction to the stitches of the Bayeux Tapestry! It's called a tapestry, but the famous Bayeux Tapestry is actually an enormous piece of 11th-century embroidery -- and we're going to have a go at some of the stitches that made it.In this three-hour, beginner-friendly workshop, we'll learn a handful of techniques used in the original, including stem stitch and laid work, before choosing a Bayeux-inspired motif and starting our own piece on linen.You'll trace your chosen design, learn how to build it up with wool and stitch, and leave with everything you need to carry on your embroidery at home.No previous embroidery experience needed. Just a willingness to spend three hours making something rather wonderfully medieval.
