Join The Lace Up in this guest workshop and discover the delicate art of bobbin lace in this beginner-friendly lacemaking workshop, where you'll learn the fundamental stitches behind this beautiful traditional craft.
No previous experience is needed, so it's a warm, welcoming place to start.
Together, we'll work through the core stitches that form the building blocks of bobbin lace: the cross, the twist, the whole stitch, the half stitch, and the whole stitch and twist.
Each one builds on the last, so you'll gradually gain confidence as your skills come together.
Everything you need is provided, including bobbins, a lace pillow, pins, threads and a pattern, so all you need to bring is a little patience and a willingness to have a go. By the end of the course, you'll leave with a finished piece of lace and a fun new skill that you can keep practising at home.
What you'll get
A completed piece of beginner's lace.
