Full Day Screen Printing for Beginners Workshop at Sonsoles Print Studio

Full Day Screenprinting for Beginners at Sonsoles Print Studio
£70.00

We’re thrilled to bring you this special collaboration between Something Good Workshops and Sonsoles Print Studio. Emily is a member at Sonsoles and after the success of our low-tech in-house screenprinting workshops with Adam Bridgland and Bench Allen, we wanted to bring you something where you tried exposing screens as part of the process.

This workshop is designed for absolute beginners or those needing a refresher. If you’re curious about screen-printing, this is for you. Expect a fun filled, hands-on day, with the satisfaction of creating without computers!

You’ll be guided through crafting designs from hand-cut stencils, drawing or mark-making to preparing screens and printing with water-based inks, producing your very own limited edition.

How the Course Works

1.    Introduction to screen printing techniques

2.    Creating and exposing handmade stencils

3.    Printing with water-based inks

4.    Producing a 1 colour, A4 size limited edition of 4 prints on paper

With a maximum of 10 attendees, it’ll be a small class, with the opportunity to ask lots of questions and develop your piece with support and expert guidance.

This workshops is not at Something Good Workshops, but will be held at Sonsoles Print Studio in Dulwich

Address: Sonsoles Print Studio, Unit 11 Print Village Chadwick Road London SE15 4PU

Date: Sunday 21st June

Time: 10am-4pm ( 5 hours workshop with 1 hour lunch break )

Full refunds will be honoured up to 7 days before the event, after which payment will be retained in full (unless we add some extra dates that it’s possible to reschedule to).

About Sonsoles Print Studio

Founded in 2012, Sonsoles Print Studio (SPS) is the only open-access screen-printing studio in Peckham. More than just a place to learn a craft, SPS is a creative hub and inclusive community where artists of all levels can explore, connect, and grow through screen-printing.

SPS was established by Sonsoles (Soni) Marquez—pronounced Son-sol-ez—a practicing artist and MA Fine Art Printmaking graduate from the Royal College of Art. Driven by a need for affordable studio space, Soni founded SPS to provide professional, accessible printmaking facilities for fellow artists, designers, and creatives.

Run by Soni and a small team of professional artist-printmakers, SPS offers both annual memberships and pay-as-you-go sessions, ensuring flexibility and affordability. Every session is supported by a skilled technician, creating a safe and encouraging environment for creative exploration.

At the heart of SPS is a commitment to nurturing talent and community. Through exhibitions, member events, and hands-on workshops, we support professional development and celebrate the diverse voices within our studio—from beginners to established practitioners. We also offer masterclasses and teaching opportunities, creating space for both learning and leadership.

Our mission is to foster a vibrant, inclusive community where printmakers feel inspired and supported. We envision SPS as a leading centre for screen-printing—defined by creativity, excellence, and accessibility—and are committed to sustainable practices and outreach that make printmaking available to all. Guided by our values of creativity, community, and sustainability, we aim to provide a welcoming, environmentally conscious space where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
